Who is responsible for your data?

What we process and why
- Operation and security. The server may log your IP address, request time, requested URL and browser information to operate the website and detect faults and abuse. The basis is our legitimate interest in website security (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
- Comments. We process your comment, name, email, IP address and browser information. Your name and approved comment are public; your email is not published. Our legitimate interest in maintaining a safe discussion is the basis for moderation and spam prevention. Please do not post sensitive information or other people’s personal data.
- Email enquiries. We use the contact details and messages you provide to respond. The basis is our legitimate interest in responding, or steps to enter into or perform a contract where applicable (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Audience measurement. Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics cookies. It may process device and browser details, pages viewed, interactions and cookie identifiers. The basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Ad personalization and Google Signals are disabled in the website tag.
- Your cookie choice. CookieYes stores your preferences and consent identifier so that we can respect and demonstrate your choice.
Recipients and international transfers
Hostinger provides hosting and technical infrastructure. Google provides analytics when you consent. Email and technical service providers may process data as needed to provide their services; authorities may receive it when required by law.
Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Google LLC states that it participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. See Google’s data transfer frameworks and how Google uses data from partner sites.
Instagram and Facebook
The Instagram feed uses locally stored image copies. Videos open on Instagram. Following an Instagram or Facebook link takes you to a separate service governed by its own privacy and cookie rules. Gravatar profile image requests are disabled.
Retention
Cookie preferences are kept for 180 days; analytics cookies for up to 180 days. Comments are retained while relevant to the published article and discussion, or until a justified erasure request. Enquiry data is retained as needed to resolve the enquiry, and longer only where needed for legal obligations or claims. Security logs and backups follow the hosting service settings. Analytics event data follows the retention period configured in the Google Analytics account; contact us for information about that period and our providers’ retention settings.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and obtain portable data where applicable. Withdraw consent at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. We normally respond within one month and may request only the information necessary to verify identity.
You may complain to Lithuania’s State Data Protection Inspectorate or your competent supervisory authority. We do not use automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.
